Descenso Villa de Luarca is a motorless speed descent (type soapbox / gravity race).
Simply put:
- 🚫 no motors
- ⛰️ movement only by gravity
- 🛞 homemade and sports carts, trikes, and racing cars
- ⏱️ the winner is determined by the best descent time
This is not a carnival or a parade, but official sports competitions for time, part of the Cup of Asturias.
🧩 What vehicles will you see
- 🪵 Wood — simple wooden carts in classic style
- 🛞 Drift Trike — three-wheeled machines with spectacular drifts
- 🏎️ C8–C9 / C10 — advanced designs with aerodynamics, brakes, and racing geometry
All participants start one at a time, the track is urban, with turns, slopes, and barriers.
