A new cultural project is emerging in Asturias — Madreñazu Fest, which will take place in early May in the mountainous part of the region. This festival combines music, crafts, street art, and living tradition.

📍 Where: Pendes (municipality of Caso)
📅 When: May 1–2–3, 2026

🌿 Festival Idea

Madreñazu Fest is built around the symbol of Asturian culture — madreña (wooden clogs).

The organizers emphasize the preservation and rethinking of traditions:
artisans work right on site, and a rich cultural program is formed around this.

Here, the past is not just shown — it is experienced.

🎶 Program

The festival brings together several directions:

  • 🎵 Live music and concerts
  • 🎭 Historical reenactments
  • 🎨 Graffiti and contemporary art
  • 🪵 Live craftsmanship on madreñas
  • 🧸 Exhibitions and cultural activities
  • 💃 Dances and open performances

🎤 Participants

The musical program has already announced:

  • Rellume
  • Bandina Los Collaínos
  • Lluevanu

Additional performances and open stages are also expected.

🎨 Special Activities

Particular attention should be given to:

  • 🎨 live graffiti sessions (including Lobo and Mark Zimmermann)
  • 🎻 traditional instruments and workshops
  • 🧩 thematic exhibitions and dioramas

⛰ Atmosphere

The festival takes place in a mountain village, amidst nature and traditional architecture.

This is not a mass event with large stages, but a local cultural festival with soul, where details matter: the sound of instruments, the smell of wood, communication, and the feeling of real Asturias.

🤘 Why You Should Go

  • rare combination of traditions and contemporary art
  • opportunity to see craftsmanship live
  • intimate atmosphere
  • nature and mountainous landscape

🎉 Madreñazu Fest is a great reason to discover another side of Asturias: not the touristy one, but the real one.
