La Fiesta del Cielo 2026 in Gijón: ten days of space, technology, and a grand drone show

From July 14 to 24, 2026, Gijón will once again become the center of one of the most unusual summer festivals in Asturias. La Fiesta del Cielo will combine astronomy, modern technology, popular science events, and family entertainment in anticipation of a solar eclipse.

The main event of the program will be a large-scale Drone Air Show, which will take place on the evening of July 17 at Playa de Poniente.

What Awaits Guests

During the ten days of the festival, events dedicated to space, aviation, and astronomy will take place:

  • exhibitions of space technology models;
  • planetarium shows;
  • special exhibition “Earth from Space through the Eyes of an Astronaut”;
  • urban route “Gijón looks at the eclipse”, dedicated to preparations for the solar eclipse.

Drone Air Show

At Playa de Poniente, there will be a light show of drones by Flock Drone Art. Hundreds of synchronously controlled drones will create large-scale light figures and animations in the sky, dedicated to the festival and the upcoming solar eclipse.
