What is Mercado Indiano?
The festival is dedicated to the Asturian indianos: residents of the region who emigrated to America in the 19th and early 20th centuries, achieved success, and returned home to build magnificent mansions, many of which still adorn Somao.
During the celebration, guests traditionally wear white clothing and straw hats, creating the atmosphere of that era.
If you want to spend your summer weekend among beautiful architecture, live music, craft shops, and a leisurely festive atmosphere, Mercado Indiano de Somao will be an excellent choice.
