
From June 10 to June 20, the XVIII International Festival of the Iberian Mask (FIMI Asturias) is taking place in Oviedo, one of the most unusual cultural festivals in Asturias, dedicated to traditional masquerade characters from Spain and Portugal.
The main event will be the International Iberian Mask Parade, which will take place on June 20 at 5:00 PM on the streets of Oviedo. For the first time in the festival’s history, the event will extend beyond the usual venues and will cover the historic center of the Asturian capital.
According to the organizers, more than 600 participants representing various regions of the Iberian Peninsula will take part in the parade. Visitors can expect vibrant costumes, ancient rituals, traditional music, and an atmosphere of a folk celebration.
Concert by Felpeyu and Honorary Guests
On June 12, a special concert by the famous Asturian folk group Felpeyu will take place at the Palacio de Congresos Príncipe Felipe.
As part of the event, Basque musician Kepa Junkera will be honored. Guest artists will also perform:
